Frequently asked questions
What should I expect at my ordering appointment?
Your ordering appointment is a time for you and your family to sit down and view your beautiful gallery! We will welcome you to our studio viewing room, where we will show you a beautiful slideshow of your session images and walk you through designing your photograph artworks. Generally, an ordering appointment will take 45 minutes.
What should we wear to our session?
In the lead up to your session, we provide a beautifully designed Style Guide for you to refer to in preparation for your session. Our studio supplies a lovely women's wardrobe, which is available to all of our clients. We also provide all knits, blankets and outfits for newborns and have a beautiful selection for our sitter sessions too. Our children's wardrobe is growing every week, so please let us know if you would like help with dressing your little loves too.
How do you keep safety a priority for my baby?
All of our staff are vaccinated with their whooping cough and current flu shots. They are all up to date with their children's first aid certificates and are refreshed with this once a year. Your baby's safety is our number one priority and we will never put your baby in a position that could harm them. Our style of newborn photography is baby led, meaning the session is guided by your baby and keeping them comfortable at all times. All studio equipment, newborn blankets and any outfits that are used on the day are cleaned after each family has visited the studio.
What happens if my baby stays awake for the session?
We celebrate! An awake baby means we are able to capture their eyes and different facial expressions. There is no age too old, however, if you are hoping for the sleepy baby shots, we recommend booking your session for when your baby is between 7 and 14 days old. Due to our experience, we have lots of tips and tricks to help with keeping your baby calm, happy and sleepy throughout your newborn session. You will receive a Preparation Guide before your session that will help prepare you and your baby for their newborn session (and often their first outing into the world!)
When should I book our newborn session?
Newborn sessions are typically held from 7 to 14 days old. During this timeframe, babies are usually still very sleepy and curly little beings. As our studio welcomes many families each month, being prepared and booking your session in advance will ensure you don't miss out on capturing this very special time in your lives.
When should I book my maternity session?
Our expecting mothers are welcomed to the studio at any time during their pregnancy. In our experience, we find that mothers are feeling their best during 32 and 36 weeks.
How old should my baby be for their sitter session?
Sitter sessions are held during the time when your baby is sitting! Typically this is between 6 and 9 months, however every baby is different. Sitter sessions are a great opportunity to capture your little ones personality, as well as their features that would have changed since they were newborns.
Should we bring siblings to our newborn session?
Siblings are welcome to our studio and encouraged to come to your baby's newborn session. Capturing the connection between siblings is just as important as capturing your newborns on their own. We love welcoming families and love watching them grow.
